Flexible Seating
We work at our best when we’re comfortable.
In December of 2016, I looked around my room of standard high school desks, and thought, “Is there a better version of this?”
I went in search of a solution, and found in the building six tables and 24 chairs. After getting the go-ahead from my principal at the time, I removed all the standard desks and built the beginnings of a room that today we describe as flexible seating. Local families, Donor’s Choose, and the school’s budget provided the other furniture, and over the years, I created what my students thought was a safe, comfortable learning environment.
Please, take a look at what my classroom looked like in December 2019.
